The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic), in partnership with Department of Small Business Development, Free State provincial government, Thabo Mofutsanyana District and Maluti-A-Phofung Local municipalities will host a Ministerial Business Seminar  aimed at creating a platform for the empowerment of businesspeople in and around the Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality. The seminar will take place at the Phuthaditjaba Multipurpose Hall in QwaQwa, Free State on Thursday, 30 November 2023 starting from 09:00.

The business seminar intends to close the gap and create a platform for the empowerment of business people in Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality. Various speakers from different national, provincial and local government agencies will present their offerings available to the businesspeople. These agencies will also exhibit their products and services. The Deputy Ministers of Trade, Industry and Competition, Ms Nomalungelo Gina and Mr Fikile Majola will address the seminar.

The seminar is expected to enhance government’s commitment to work together with communities to encourage sharing of information and creation of structures which provides for genuine economic participation and involvement, to better the lives of all South Africans.

This initiative reiterates government’s support to small businesses through different incentives provided by the dtic and other government institutions that are mandated to support the growth of small businesses within the country.

Businesspeople attending the event will also be advised on how to grow and sustain their businesses during interactive information-sharing sessions hosted by the dtic agencies and other strategic partners.
