The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic), has assisted twenty manufacturers of natural and organic cosmetics, personal care and toiletries sector to attend the third edition of the Organic and Natural Business to Business (B2B) Virtual Talk Shop  that will take place from 15-16 November 2021.

The Organic and Natural Virtual B2B Talk Shop is a biennial event that brings together a mix of all industry stakeholders for two days of conference and networking, with the opportunity to feature one’s company in a micro site on the platform. The conference content covers an overview of the organic and natural sector delivered by trade Intelligence, with insights from various retail buyers, distributors, tech enablers along the likes of e-commerce and marketing, and associations and government bodies offering support services to organisations in the sector.

According to the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Nomalungelo Gina the dtic is committed and mandated to promote locally manufactured products. She says the aim of the platform, therefore, addresses strategic areas of the industry, which is to help foster the uptake of locally produced products into the retail sector and to promote proudly South African products.

“The benefits to the dtic is the collaboration of brands and small businesses with large businesses, sale platform for businesses, ability to interact with potential investors and to showcase South Africa’s locally produced products,” says Gina.

The B2B Virtual Talk Shop event will be attended by buyers, exporters, importers, distributors, suppliers, industry associations and government bodies, both locally and internationally, who will interact with other delegates and featured supplier pages.

The companies attending the Virtual Talk Shop will be listed in the Organic and Natural portal for at least six months, which is an online information hub, with news, expo updates, recipes, featured columns and a categorised company directory. In the portal, traders and consumers can stay up to date with everything organic and natural, and find listed companies who provide an array of products across multiple categories.

The launch edition in Sept 2020 saw 144 attendees and 34 featured suppliers, the second edition grew to 404 attendees and 36 featured suppliers, and this the third edition is expected to top the 500 attendee mark with 40 suppliers featuring themselves.
