Gauteng Company Seeks to Establish New Clients in Germany |
The Managing Director of Afrex Trading, Mr Etiene Taitz says he is hopeful of boosting his company’s profile and establishing new clients when showcasing his range of perishable products at the 27th Fruit Logistica International Trade Fair that will take place in Berlin, Germany from 6-8 February 2019.
Afrex Trading, which packages and exports high-value perishable agricultural products, will be part of the twenty-five businesses and research institutions that will be showcasing South Africa’s fruit and vegetable export capabilities at the South African Pavilion that will be hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti). Etiene adds that this year will be the second time that they will be showcasing at Fruit Logistica Berlin. “For this year we are taking a very large display of our products. Our bright coloured flowers will be our biggest drawcard. They will dazzle the grey wintery season currently engulfing the Northern Hemisphere. Our product range will consist of baby vegetables, micro vegetables, micro herbs, as well as edible and ornamental flowers,” says Taitz. Taitz further mentions that the Fruit Logistica platform is the most important exhibition for fruit and vegetables in the world. “This exhibition enables us to keep track of new fashions, new ideas and new technologies. It also allows us that intimate insight to keep track of our competitors who hail mostly from France, Israel and Holland,” he says. The Fruit Logistica Berlin is regarded as the world’s leading international trade fair for the fresh fruit and vegetable industry. It covers every sector of the international fruit and vegetable supply chain from production, distribution and marketing, through to the point of sale including global players, as well as small and medium-sized suppliers from all around the world.
