Due to a rapid increasing number of fraudulent certificates received by suppliers, the National Liquor Authority (NLA) has introduced an integrated QR Code mechanism and online licence verification that will feature on all NLA certificates issued as from 18 February 2026. This functionality serves as a security enhancement and verification feature, where one can determine the authenticity and status of an NLA registrant, who are active or cancelled.
You are therefore encouraged to verify the status of other registrants to ensure that they are registered and compliant.
How to verify a registrant with a smart phone:-
- Scan QR Code that is on the certificate with your smartphone camera, information about the registration and its validity will reflect.
How to verify a registrant without a smart phone:-
- Log into the NLA online system, on the Home page, click Licence verification
- Search the Reference number, the information about registration and its validity will reflect.
