On 3 July 2026, the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic) invited public
comments on the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Amendment Bill,
2026. the dtic published in Government Gazette No. 54941 with the closing date of 3
September 2026 for the submission of public comments.
the dtic has since received requests from the extension of the closing date for the submission
of public comments. To encourage maximum public participation, the submission of public
comments has been extended by a further 30 days from the date of publication of this Notice.
