the dti to Showcase 30 Companies at the Africa Health Exhibition 2019 |
| The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) will be assisting 30 companies from the South African Medical Devices Industry to showcase locally manufactured medical devices and services at the 2019 Africa Health Exhibition that will be taking place at Gallagher Convention Centre, from 28-30 May 2019.
The Africa Health Exhibition is the largest gathering of healthcare companies, technology, products and services in the African continent which features 560 exhibiting companies from 39 countries and a host of accredited conferences and workshops. The Deputy Director-General of Trade and Investment South Africa (TISA) at the dti, Ms Lerato Mataboge explains that the 30 companies were assisted under the Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA), whose objective is to develop export markets for South African products and services and to recruit new foreign direct investment into the country. “We specifically targeted the Africa Health Exhibition as the stage host the South African Pavilion because of its size and the anticipated delegates that will attend. More than ten thousand healthcare professionals and decision makers in total. We hope that they will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our exhibitors and enable them to exchange ideas and learn about the latest product advancements from key industry players,” she says. Mataboge adds that companies forming the South African Pavilion ranges in products and services, from ambulance conversions, hand sanitisers and disinfectants, wound dressing, orthofit range and portable screening and diagnostic systems to mention a few.
