The Founder and Brand Development Executive of the Eastern Cape-based Analit Africa Consumer Brands, Mr Lungisa Lutshaba is excited to be representing the Eastern Cape with his proudly South African products at the Gulfood exhibition in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 20-24 February 2023.

Lutshaba is part of a business delegation of sixteen South African agro-processing companies that will showcase their products at the Gulfood exhibition. Gulfood is regarded as the largest food and beverage trade exhibition in the Middle East. It attracts a large number of participants from the Middle East and the world at large. Gulfood 2023 will showcase food and beverage products from around the world.

The companies’ participation has been funded by the Department of Trade Industry and Competition (the dtic) through its Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA) Scheme. The scheme aims to develop export markets for South African products and services and to recruit new foreign direct investment into the country.

Analit Africa Consumer Brands, which was founded in 2012, manufactures food brands and organically premium skincare brands. Their Sunpheka Brands includes sunpheka evo, sunpheka econo sunflower flex, sunpheka sachet range, yummy mummy noodles, mastrorocco spread and sunpheka rice.

According to Lutshaba, the company was previously funded by the dtic to showcase in Johannesburg, UAE, Angola, Kenya and Mozambique. In all these exhibitions, Lutshaba says the company managed to make inroads and is now exporting to Namibia. It also in talks with Naaivas Foods Kenya and Quickmart. They havesent samples to Angola and are in negotiations with big retailers Mozambique.

““We hope to attract an interest from the wider market during the show and get new clients to understand and recognise the new and emerging South African product, Sunpheka Food Brand which can result in expanding our export market to the Gulf region,” says Lutshaba.

Lutshaba, who employs 14 people, says participating in the 2020 leg of the Gulfood exhibition has introduced his product to the Lulu Hypermarket in Kuwait and Dubai.

“We have had meetings, visited their premises and are hoping to close the deal during the show. I am aiming to acquire trade leads and follow-up with current ones,” says Lutshaba.

Sunpheka is a non-genetically modified organism, additives and allergens free world’s first infused brand, unadulterated free from mineral and added extraneous organic acids available in oil, fats and dry foods. They are packed in polyethylene terephthalate containers, poly sachets and high density poly ethylene buckets, 0% cholesterol, 100% vegan and organic non-stick. Infused high in monounsaturated fatty acids product line.
