In-store Promotions

Description

Assistance for In-store Promotions is provided to groups of five (5) or more SMME and/or HDI South African manufacturers, to showcase their products in targeted retail outlets abroad.

Eligible Enterprises

  1. Entities manufacturing any products or providing services produced within South Africa and that supports the dtic priority sectors.
  2. Entities that outsource their manufacturing process within South Africa that supports the dtic priority sectors.

Financial Assistance available to SMME’s and HDI’s

Economy class return airfare to a maximum amount of R20 000;

Subsistence allowance (R3 000 per day for duration of event, maximum 10 days);

Transport of samples (maximum R20 000);

Physical or Virtual Exhibition costs (maximum R65 000);

Additional financial support of maximum R35 000 for a person with disabilities;

Entities with ≥51% ownership by women, youth and persons with disabilities and first time applicants marketing materials of maximum R7 000 per event and digital listing of R3 000 per annum;

Entities with ≤ 50% ownership by women, youth, persons with disabilities and not first time applicants marketing materials of 50% to maximum of R3 500 per event and digital listing of 50% to R1 500 per annum.

Financial Assistance for “Other Size Entities” Exceeding the turnover criteria for SMME’s

Physical or Virtual Exhibition costs (maximum R65 000);

Entities with ≥51% ownership by women, youth and persons with disabilities and first time applicants marketing materials of maximum R7 000 per event and digital listing of R3 000 per annum.

Entities with ≤ 50% ownership by women, youth, persons with disabilities and not first time applicants marketing materials of 50% to maximum of R3 500 per event and digital listing of 50% to R1 500 per annum.

General Information

A completed application must be submitted to the dtic three (3) to six (6) months before the commencement date of the event.

The following documents, (PDF format) need to be sent via email as attachments:

Generic Documents

  1. Certificate of Incorporation;
  2. B-BBEE Certificate or affidavit where applicable;
  3. SARS Tax Compliance Status (TCS) Pin Document;
  4. Financial Statements: Audited/ Reviewed/ Compiled;
  5. Brochure or Website printout of products or services;
  6. Exporters registration certificate (Not applicable for service-oriented entities, Export Councils, Industry Associations and Joint Action Groups);
  7. Export Marketing Plan;
  8. Entities that outsource their manufacturing process or parts thereof: Valid formal outsourcing/manufacturing agreement/s. The agreement should be signed, dated and stipulate the outsourced activities and the expiry date of the agreement;
  9. Signed Agreement with the retail outlet;
  10. Letter of support from the foreign office representative.

Additional Documents required from SMME’s/HDI’s

  1. Three (3) Air ticket Quotations from different service providers of choice or a letter with reason why it is not used (i.e not applicable for virtual events);
  2. Three (3) Freight Forwarding quotations from service providers of choice or a letter why it is not used;
  3. Three (3) quotations for marketing materials from service providers of choice or a letter with reason why it is not used;
  4. Motivation and three (3) quotations for additional assistance for person with disabilities.
