Individual Inward Bound Missions

Description

IIBM Assistance is provided to South African entities organising an inward buying mission to enable a prospective buyer or investor to make contact with them to conclude export orders or attract foreign direct investment.

Eligible Enterprises

  1. Entities manufacturing any products or providing services produced within South Africa and that supports the dtic priority sectors.
  2. Entities that outsource their manufacturing process within South Africa that supports the dtic priority sectors.
  3. South African export trading houses and commission agents representing at least three local manufacturing and/or service entities that support the dtic priority sectors.
  4. South African Export Councils, Industry Associations and Joint Action Groups representing at least five of its members within the local manufacturing and/or service sectors that support the dtic priority sectors.

Financial Assistance available to SMME’s and HDI’s

Economy class return airfare to a maximum amount of R20,000

Subsistence allowance (R3,000 per day for two appointment per day, maximum 5 days);

Rental of a vehicle R300 per day Maximum. 5 days

Transport of samples (Maximum R10,000,  Only available for virtual contact with potential buyers/investors );

Maximum of 100 % of the cost capped at R 10,000 of the design of digital marketing materials and or listing costs on the digital platform of the buyer company (Only available for virtual contact with potential buyers/investors)

General Information

A completed application must be submitted to the dtic three (3) to six (6) months before the commencement date of the event.

The following documents should be ready to e-mail as attachments:

Generic Documents

  1. Certificate of Incorporation
  2. B-BBEE Certificate or affidavit where applicable
  3. SARS Tax Compliance Status (TCS) Pin Document
  4. Financial Statements: Audited/ Reviewed/ Compiled
  5. Brochure or Website printout of products or services
  6. Exporters registration certificate (Not applicable for service-oriented entities, Export Councils, Industry Associations and Joint Action Groups)
  7. Export Marketing Plan
  8. Commission Agent: Three (3) agency agreements with entities to be represented at the specific event.
  9. Export Trading House: Three (3) signed letters of permission from entities to be represented at the specific event.
  10. South African Export Councils, Industry Associations and Joint Action Groups: Five (5) signed letters of permission from entities to be represented at the specific event.
  11. Entities that outsource their manufacturing process or parts thereof: Valid formal outsourcing/manufacturing agreement/s. The agreement should be signed, dated and stipulate the outsourced activities and the expiry date of the agreement.
  12. 3 Air ticket Quotations from different service providers of choice or a letter with reason why it is not used (i.e not applicable for virtual events)
  13. 3 Freight Forwarding quotations from service providers of choice
  14. Three (3) comparable valid quotations for design of digital marketing material from service providers of choice
  15. Profile of the invited company and confirmation of the duly appointment official from the company.
  16. Detailed itinerary with planned daily work activities.
